Loanee trio in action

While West Ham United were scoring an important Barclays Premier League victory, the club's young loanees were busy in the Coca-Cola Football League.

Bondz 'Gala and Freddie Sears both tasted defeat in the Championship, while Frank Nouble was also on the losing side in League One.

Forward Sears started for Coventry City in the Sky Blues' 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United, being replaced by fellow West Ham Academy graduate Freddy Eastwood after 55 minutes. Coventry lost for the third consecutive game at Bramall Lane, dropping to 17th in the table, seven points above the relegation zone with three matches remaining.

'Gala's Plymouth Argyle look in grave danger of dropping into League One following their 1-0 loss at Watford. The Pilgrims, for whom centre-back 'Gala completed a full 90 minutes at Vicarage Road, are five points adrift of safety with just three fixtures left to play.

In League One, Nouble arrived too late to stave off a 3-0 defeat for Swindon Town at fellow play-off contenders Colchester United. The forward was sent on as an 82nd-minute replacement for Charlie Austin, with the Robins already two goals down. Swindon are fourth in the table, two points behind second-placed Millwall with five games to go.

Centre-back Matt Fry missed out on a place in Phil Parkinson's matchday squad as Charlton Athletic went down to a 1-0 defeat at Alan Pardew's Southampton. The Addicks are fifth, two points behind Swindon.

Further afield, Holmar Orn Eyjolfsson is in training with KSV Roeselare ahead of their Belgian promotion/relegation play-offs in May.

With the regular season having ended, Roeselare have organised a friendly match against KVK Leper on Saturday 24 April, which defender Eyjolfsson will be eager to take part in.
