Ladies rained off

Only one West Ham United Ladies team managed to go ahead over the weekend as the wet conditions took their toll on the fixture list.

The first-team's game at home to Keynsham Town was called off on Saturday morning and, one by one, the matches scheduled for the other Hammers' teams also soon fell victim to the damp conditions. By Sunday morning, just one game had survived so it was left to the Under-12s to carry for the flag for West Ham United and they did themselves proud. A 2-1 win at Little Thurrock Dynamos helped to further extend their lead at the top of the Essex County Girls League.

It was the second week in a row the first-team's game had been called off due to wet weather, so both the trip to table-toppers Barnet, which was due to be played the week before, and the home game with the Keynsham will need to be re-arranged. All being well, Tony Marshall's side will get back to league action when they play host to Cardiff City next Sunday.
