Sir Trevor Brooking has spoken of his delight ahead of having the Boleyn Ground's North Stand renamed in his honour before the Bobby Moore Cup clash with SSC Napoli.
In an exclusive interview with the West Ham United official matchday programme, Sir Trevor also paid tribute to his mentor and former team-mate Moore.
Guest of honour Sir Trevor will be joined at Saturday's game by Stephanie Moore, the wife of the late 1966 FIFA World Cup-winning captain.
"It is a terrific honour which I am very grateful for because this is my club," said Sir Trevor. "It will be my club forever. The great thing was being able to spend my whole career with West Ham, having a stint as caretaker manager and as a director and then going to the FA."
In a wide-ranging interview, the former England midfielder also spoke of his admiration for Moore, who was at his peak as Sir Trevor came through the ranks at the Academy of Football.
"Bob was a model professional though in every way," said Sir Trevor. "My first experience of him was as a schoolboy. I had come in on a Sunday for an injury on two or three occasions in the season and every time Bobby Moore was in as well. I saw him come in, put his tracksuit on, go out for a run and then come in ready for a shower before going home.
"I was inquisitive about this and said to our physio Rob Jenkins about the fact Bobby Moore had happened to be in whenever I had come in for treatment. Rob told me that he was in every Sunday. He would play on Saturday - he always enjoyed his night out after the game - but religiously he would be in the next morning on his own to train."
