Curbs update on WHUTV

Alan Curbishley is in good spirits ahead of the visit of Manchester City on Saturday - as you can see for yourself on WHUTV right now.

The West Ham United manager runs through his options ahead of the FA Cup third-round tie and, looking ahead, mentions his hopes of having a few players back in contention for a reserve-team match at Aston Villa on Monday.

"If we get through this weekend and the people who are in full training follow that up with a reserve game then it will start easing off a little bit," Curbishley said. "That is where we are hoping to get to. I haven't really had a chance to see what we have got here because it has been so unsettled and so many people have been out. A lot of the people we brought in [in the summer] fall in that category.

"We have got a squad that is strong enough to hold up. We have had a decent run, I think we should not forget that. We have three defeats in the last 12 games and that has been Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton. We have won five and drawn the rest. We are jogging along but obviously we would like it to be a little bit more settled."
