Pards looking forward to big occasion

Alan Pardew has warned that Charlton Athletic or Middlesbrough will provide tough opposition in the FA Cup semi-finals.

The Hammers boss was naturally pleased to have avoided favourites Chelsea and Liverpool in the draw for the last four, but will certainly guard against complacency ahead of what will hopefully be a memorable occasion for the Club.

"In reflection, the draw is great for ourselves, Charlton and Middlesbrough," he said. "We've had some real tough draws in the competition so far, and it's only natural to want to avoid the favourites when you get to this stage.

"However, that isn't to say it will be an easy task - we will have to be at our very best to overcome either of those sides, and myself and the players are fully aware of that.

"Whatever happens, it will be a great occasion for the Club and our fans. I am sure that they will give us fantastic support as always, and we hope it will be a memorable day for them and everyone connected with West Ham United."
