Marlon Mystified

Marlon Harewood is mystified by the 'goal' he had disallowed against Gillingham on Saturday.

With the score delicately poised at 2-1, Marlon's looping header from Matthew Etherington's cross would have afforded fans and players alike some much needed breathing space.

As it was, the goal was disallowed - not before Marlon had wheeled away in celebration - and he says:

"I don't even know what that was about.

"I asked the ref and he said it was a push, but I couldn't see that because I was already in the air.

"It would have finished the game off but that is the way it goes."

He says it was so pleasing to bounce back from the Millwall defeat, and adds:

"There was a hell of a lot of character shown and the lads took it on the chin following Millwall - and got on with it.

"We are footballers - we have to pick ourselves up and get on with things.

"It is tight, we have got to win every game we play, and at least we are back on track."
