Although diminutive in stature, he feels he has the attributes needed to survive in the division and adds:
"You have got to have both sides of your game - put the tackles in and be creative as well; I think I am doing that so I am pleased.
"It is not a case of changing your game - you have to put the work in in the Premiership as well.
"But there is definitely more of a physical side to it it in the first division."
Looking at the Derby game, he says:
"We had a couple of chances, though looking back it did seem as if it would head for 0-0 - but Don has popped up with a great finish.
"It was a great strike; I was right behind him and he caught it sweetly.
"We had more chances than them and I think they would have settled for a point.
"But we kept going and got the win, and on another day Conners would have got a couple as well.
"It was a good three points; we worked hard as a team and it keeps us up there."
And he says that, although the formation was the more traditional 4-4-2 at Pride Park, in the absence of Jermain Defoe, the players have no problems with whatever system is employed.
"It is just about accommodating whoever we play, and everyone was happy," he says.
