Roger Satisfied With Win

Roger Cross declares himself very pleased with the reserves' 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night - especially with such a young side.

"It was a very good performance and I was very pleased with the performance - especially when you consider the age of the side," he says.

"I am very happy, and once more the defence has done well - with a youth team back four.

"Ferdinand and Ward at the centre of defence are regular performers in the reserves, while Brent Tattum in his first start at left back was sound, Tommy Laws did well at the back, not to mention Steve Bywater in his first game back - he made one great save from a deflected shot.

"The goal was a good one, held up by Billy Mehmet and then a good first time strike from Shaun Byrne."

David Noble played his third game since joining from Arsenal, and again put in an encouraging performance which bodes well as he looks for a contract beyond the summer.

"He has good skills, he is an excellent passer, and he can mix it when he has to," says Roger.
