Michael Returns

Michael Carrick, Anton Ferdinand, and Youssef Sofiane all return to the squad for the trip to Rotherham - though Glenn Roeder is cautious about Michael as he has been out so long.

"He will train again this afternoon up in Sheffield and he is definitely available for selection.

"Michael Carrick is travelling with us after a full week of training but just because he has had that it would be expecting much too much of him to just go straight back into first team action.

"He is added to the squad and it was fantastic news that Michael is feeling so much better after four days of heavy training.

"But no one can possibly expect him just to step straight back into first team action after having quite an extensive time out.

"He is such a valuable member of the team you just couldn't take that risk up at Rotherham.

"But the important thing is he is on the coach and travelling; he is much happier and we are much happier that he has got through these days of working very hard to get back to match fitness.

"It is good news is that we have been able to add Anton Ferdinand and Youssef Sofiane back into the squad; he had a full day's training yesterday and came through it very well."

Glenn is relieved that Christian Dailly and Don Hutchison are back from their tour of duty with Scotland unscathed, and adds:

"Christian and Don arrived back to Glasgow in the early hours of Thursday morning and then stayed at home to recover from the trip.

"I am sure John Green would have been contacted if there had been any problems and the fact that wasn't means 'no news is good news'."
