MD Paul Aldridge confirms that Sebastien Schemmel is expected to
leave the club for Portsmouth shortly.
"He is going through the process of a medical and I expect the transfer to be concluded in the next 24 hours or so," he says.
"It will be a free transfer and we wish Sebastien well in resurrecting his career."
Seb was, of course, Hammer of the year the season before last, but only made sporadic appearances last season.
The emergence of Glen Johnson at right back in the second half of the last campaign and, this preseason, Anton Ferdinand's form, meant that he and the club thought it best to seek pastures new.
