Potts Is A Dagger

Steve Potts has signed for Conference neighbours Dagenham and Redbridge.

Steve, who joined West Ham in 1983, making his debut against QPR on the first day of 1985, played in 399 league games for West Ham before being released in the summer.

He is the last of the senior players who left in the close season to find a club, following Paul Kitson, who went to Brighton, Michael Ferrante, now playing in Serie C in Italy, Omer Riza, who is at Cambridge, and Shaka Hislop, who went of course to Portsmouth.

Keepers Craig Forrest and Sven Andersson, signed on a short term contract, both retired.

Steve's second ever debut, then, will also be in east London...at home to Burton Albion.

Meanwhile, the under-19s game against Coventry City, on Saturday, November 2, reverts to Little Heath, kick off 11.00am.

The under-17s now play Reading at Upton Park - as opposed to Little Heath - on Saturday, 28th September at 1.00pm.

* Glen Johnson has again been named in the England U19 squad, this time to face Hungary in Budapest on Wednesday.
