Glenn Roeder takes a 19-man party to Liverpool - without, of course, strikers Fredi Kanoute and Paolo Di Canio.

Striking options are provided by Titi Camara, Trevor Sinclair if he switches positions, teenage summer signing Youssef Sofiane, and midfielder-cum-forward Richard Garcia.

Squad: James, Van der Gouw, Forde, Repka, Dailly, Winterburn, Breen, Cole, Sinclair, Sofiane, Cisse, Carrick, Minto, Garcia, Lomas, Rahim, Defoe, Pearce, Camara.

Meanwhile, loanee Grant McCann has had his loan spell extended by Cheltenham Town.

"Grant McCann is progressing well at Cheltenham so we have extended his loan by a month," says Glenn Roeder.

He is one of a trio of loanees getting experience at the moment - and that could expand to a quartet.

"Leon Britton is having a few days down at Southend training," says Glenn.

"Glen Johnson did very well in the game I saw against Derby for Millwall and I am sure in the next couple of weeks Mark McGhee will give me a call to tell me whether he wants to keep him or not - and we will decide whether we want him to stay there longer.

"But when he does return he will be better because of the experience.

"Izzie Iriekpen has done well at Orient and it is good for him, too, to get league games behind him."
