Without wanting to name and shame the characters involved, vigilant fans will be aware of the players to whom he refers.
Now, Glenn feels that these claims must be exposed for what they are, and he says:
"I think we always seem to be quite an easy target, or we appear to be an easy target - perhaps because we just seem to accept it.
"But I have noticed just recently, in the last couple of weeks, that four or five players have actually come out and been quoted as saying they have spoken to West Ham, and they think a deal is about to happen, or they have spoken to West Ham and decided to join someone else.
"I want to put it on record that we haven't spoken to anybody - and these players are not telling the truth.
"Regarding all the players that we have been linked with in the last couple of weeks, the situation is completely misleading and wrong."
Glenn does, however, have specific targets in mind, and reveals:
"We have targeted four players, of whom we hope to sign two, but obviously I am not letting it be known who those players are, because that wouldn't be the right thing to do.
"I will be letting our fans know as soon as possible when we are about to make a signing, or when we have actually signed somebody."
Glenn is proud of his powers of persuasion, but also feels that the club sells itself, and adds:
"Believe me, nobody has turned us down to go somewhere else, and in fact very few players, if they had the opportunity to play for a club as good as West Ham, would be turning us down."
