Glenn: Work Goes On

Glenn Roeder says he is working round the clock to help West Ham climb the table as soon as possible - as well as planning ahead for next season.

"On Thursday after training I flew top see a UEFA Cup game with a particular target for next season," he reveals, "and that's the way I'm thinking.

"I travelled back through the night to take training on Friday morning and then flew to Manchester in the afternoon.

"Everyone is working flat out to get us out of the hole we have got ourselves in.

"We know it is us that has got us in this predicament and it is us that will get us out - and the players will deserve the credit when that happens.

"Without doubt we are looking at next summer as well as having an eye on the immediate future, which is from January onwards.

"We are already examining our targets for next season, players we can bring in for the next campaign."

Glenn is heartened by the understanding at the recent AGM from shareholders aware of his plight and the fact that the funds for rebuilding are limited at the moment.

"I wasn't at the AGM but I understand from people that were there that everyone appeared to be supportive and understood the current situation," he says.

"I think decent, understanding people know the predicament at the moment and all I can say is that we are working flat out, as hard as we can."
