Glenn: Window Makes Life Difficult

Glenn Roeder says that the newly imposed transfer window makes his job even more difficult.

As he looks for a striker to add to the squad, he admits:

"We have added a few players and let several leave, but strength in depth is difficult to achieve.

"I am very uncomfortable with the new transfer window and I don't think supporters realise or understand the implications of it - there hasn't been too much written or said on the subject.

"After the 31st of August there can be no dealings - permanent or loans - until the second window in January.

"The financial aspect of football is changing dramatically and it hasn't bottomed out yet, but the window is forcing clubs to make their squads bigger to deal with any injuries or suspensions that may occur.

"I do not agree with its introduction."

Meanwhile, Christian Dailly will again captain Scotland in the friendly with Denmark on 21st August and the Euro 2004 qualifier with the Faroe Islands on 7th September.

However, Fredi Kanoute failed to make it into the full French squad under the new regime.
