Reserves Win

A young West Ham reserve side beat Heybridge Swifts 3-0 in a friendly on Saturday afternoon - but coach Roger Cross says it should have been more.

Leon Britton, Freddie Eastwood, and San Lee scored the goals but Roger admits: "The whole team did well for the first half hour and played some really good football - as you should against these teams - but after that we went off the boil and were a little bit casual, despite only being one goal up.

"We really created a lot of chances and the finishing was not as good as it should have been."

The game was the first in the reserves for Korean youngster San Lee, and Roger says: "San Lee was not expecting to travel, but we were short of players, and to be honest it was the first time I have seen him play.

"He was bright and sharp with some nice touches, and he took his goal well.

"I was pleased with Leon Britton, who played well, and he has every chance of making it."

Team: Forde, Khan, Johnson, Iriekpen, McCann, Britton, Allen, Byrne, McMahon, Riddle, Eastwood (Lee 65).
