While there may be a certain amount of poetic licence in that revelation, the point is clear: Joe is determined to add the scoring touch to his array of skills this season.
He was again a star performer in the friendly win over Vitesse Arnhem on Friday night, and although he didn't add to his two goal summer tally, Paul says: "I think Joe has been a major, major plus. He has come back stronger and looks a real player.
"He has added a couple of goals to his game, and that is massive. It is such a great asset for him to have and if he can start putting more goals on the end of his play then he is going to be one very special player.
"He has been working on it almost until the sun goes down. Me, him and Jermain have spent a few hours out there.
"Good attacking midfield players score five, six, seven, or eight goals a season and I am sure that will be Joe's target."
The game was the first friendly Jermain hasn't scored in, but Paul is unconcerned and says: "Jermain obviously has an incredible natural ability to score goals but he loves practising as well - you could say we are working quite hard at it."
