An elegant, ball-playing centre-back, Airidas Golambeckis is just as comfortable in midfield.
Already featuring regularly at U18 level during the 2023/24 campaign as an U16, he made his Premier League 2 debut in the same season with the U21s playing the full 90 minutes in a 0-2 victory over Norwich.
His performances earned him a full-time scholarship with the Hammers signed ahead of the 2024/25 season. His strong start to the campaign earned him his first call-up to the Young Lions squad for Liam Bramley's U18s. Making his debut in a 1-1 draw against Switzerland, Golambeckis scored his first international goal in a 3-1 win against Ukraine U19s.
In November 2024, just days after turning 17, he signed his first professional contract.
While featuring heavily in the U21s squad, Golambeckis also started every game for the U18s as they won the Premier League Cup for the first time.
