West Ham United U23s are to take on Birmingham City U23s in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly at Rush Green Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Originally set to face Huddersfield ‘B’ in East London this week, that match was postponed, with Dmitri Halajko’s development squad now due to take on the Blues in their place.
The young Hammers have faced a variety of opposition in pre-season thus far as they ramp up towards the beginning of the Premier League 2 Division 1 season on 16 August, including senior teams Aldershot Town, Southend United and Crawley Town in recent weeks.
Their last outing came against the ‘Shots at Rush Green on Friday, during which new signing Armstrong Okoflex scored his third and fourth goals of pre-season in an exciting 2-2 draw.
While fans will be unable to attend Friday afternoon's game against Birmingham - which kicks off at 1pm - a full match report, reaction and highlights will be available on whufc.com across Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Until further notice, U23s and U18s pre-season home fixtures will be played behind closed doors.
Only key personnel will be admitted on site at Rush Green Stadium and Little Heath Sports Ground until further notice, and matches at either ground are currently due to be played without supporters present.
