On this day: Brooking stars in Arsenal rout

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

Sir Trevor Brooking was the star of the show as West Ham United defeated Arsenal 3-1 on this date in the calendar 37 years ago.

Brooking got the scoring started for the Hammers with a header - much as he had done in the FA Cup final against the same opponents three years previously.

Alan Devonshire then forced an own goal from the Gunners' Chris Whyte, before Brooking juggled the ball in the area and crossed spectacularly for Geoff Pike to add a third for the hosts.
