On This Day: Behrami, Obinna and Parker score in vital Wigan victory

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United scored a much-needed 3-1 Premier League win over Wigan Athletic on this day in 2010.

The Hammers went into the game bottom of the table with just nine points from 14 games, but goals from Valon Behrami, Victor Obinna and Scott Parker secured all three points.

Swiss midfielder Behrami opened the scoring on 34 minutes, bundling Frederic Piquionne's header into the net. Nigerian forward Obinna made it 2-0 with a rasping left-foot shot past Ali Al Habsi eleven minutes into the second half.

Robert Green then saved substitute Mauro Boselli's penalty before Scott Parker made the game safe with 15 minutes to play after combining with Obinna.

Tom Cleverley pulled a goal back late on, but Avram Grant's side could not be denied their second Premier League victory of the 2010/11 campaign.
