On this day: Martin, Pike and Clark shoot down Liverpool

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United had too much for Liverpool on this day in 1982, winning 3-1 at the Boleyn Ground.

Alvin Martin, Geoff Pike and Sandy Clark were the men on target as John Lyall's side extended their unbeaten run to seven games - a run which had them as high as second in the First Division table.

Although the Hammers could not maintain that level of form, they still managed an eighth place finish that season, just seven points off runners-up Watford.

RoadX Tyres is West Ham United's Official Tyre Partner. RoadX Tyres is a new tyre brand which successfully launched around the world at the end of 2019.
