West Ham United extends partnership with Kip Mate

West Ham United has announced an enhanced partnership with Kip Mate as its Official Sleep Therapist Supplier.

Founded by one of the world’s leading sleep experts - James Wilson (AKA The Sleep Geek) - Kip Mate is a toolbox of simple and effective content and tools designed to help organisations, sports teams and individuals sleep better. Having previously worked with West Ham United Women, Kip Mate will support both the Men’s and Women’s First Teams for the 2022/23 season in one of the first partnerships of its kind.

During the 2021/22 season, James worked directly with West Ham United Women to educate and understand their sleep patterns. He assisted players and staff in making changes to their mindsets, behaviours and sleep environment, to positively influence sleep, performance and wellbeing.

West Ham United’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nathan Thompson, said: “We are delighted to enhance our partnership with Kip Mate, and we look forward to continuing to work with James.

“It is testament to the support that James has provided through the partnership with West Ham United Women that we have developed the partnership to support the entire Club.

"Performance can be directly linked to sleep and we strive for best performance from everyone at West Ham United. This partnership continues to support our values and we look forward to seeing it go from strength to strength.”

James Wilson, ‘The Sleep Geek’ and Founder of Kip Mate, said: “Having thoroughly enjoyed working with West Ham United Women last season, I am excited that the partnership has been extended to work with, and support, the entire Club. My aims for the 2022/23 season are to continue the development and education for the Women’s Team while beginning that journey with the Men’s Team, with the ultimate aim of bringing further success to West Ham United both on and off the pitch.”

Jenny Coady, Head of Performance and Wellbeing for West Ham United Women, said: “The partnership with Kip Mate has had a positive impact on the wellbeing of both players and staff. We are looking forward to seeing the continued benefits from working with James and are pleased that the work done last year has influenced a Club-wide partnership.”
