Sixty-five members from our Official Supporters' Club, West Ham Poland, made the trip across Europe to London Stadium on Saturday for our Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.
After the match, the group had the unique opportunity of meeting their fellow countryman and recent Hammers returnee, Łukasz Fabiański, who took the time for selfies, a chat and autographs with the group.
West Ham Poland chairperson Łukasz Papuda was thrilled to bring the group together for their visit to London, and even more so to meet the Irons and Poland favourite Fabiański.
"As the founder of West Ham Poland - the official Polish fan club - I was proud to see more than 60 of our members come together for our annual meet-up in London on 13 September, attending the West Ham -Tottenham match," he said.
"Although the result on the pitch was not what we hoped for, it was a fantastic opportunity to unite supporters who travelled from Poland, but also other countries all over the world, like Netherlands, Germany and Jersey, and also many who live in London and other parts of the UK.
"This tradition has been growing year by year - watching a game together from one stand and spending time with fellow fans across the day or the whole weekend. This time, we decided to rent a boat and cruise around the London Stadium before the match, spending our matchday together in a truly memorable way.
"We are grateful to the Club for their warm welcome and support in making this possible - from the billboard announcement at the stadium to, most importantly, arranging a special meet and greet with Łukasz Fabiański after the game.
"Meeting him, taking photos and getting autographs was a highlight for everyone. Łukasz is a big figure for us - he has been a long-time servant of West Ham - and we are delighted he is back with the club this season after signing a new contract."
Papuda explained how joining the Club's network of Official Supporters' Clubs from around the world has helped his group to grow.
"After almost 20 years of operating as West Ham Poland, I feel it is important that we put even more focus on the in-person experience for our members," he added.
:While we continue to excel in other areas like online presence through social media, our website and appearances in the media, meeting in person is something we want to grow.
"These meet-ups in London are the best way to give our members the chance to meet each other, strengthen the community and share unforgettable experiences together."
