U21s set for Spain pre-season training camp

West Ham United U21s will head to Spain for the third consecutive summer as part of their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The young Hammers - set to depart on Sunday 27 July - will be based in Cádiz, an ancient port city in the Andalucia region of southwestern Spain, for a week-long training camp, where they will continue their fitness work with a mix of gym sessions and pitch-based training.

As part of the trip, the squad will also take part in a training match against Primera RFEF (Spain's third tier) side Atlético Sanluqueño on Friday 1 August.

The fixture will be the sixth time Mark Robson’s side face senior opposition this pre-season, offering another valuable opportunity to build up match sharpness ahead of a busy campaign.

So far, the U21s have faced National League South sides Worthing (1-4), Ebbsfleet United (0-2) and Maidenhead United (2-4), EFL League One club Northampton Town (0-0) and National League outfit Boreham Wood (2-1).

The week-long training camp will give lead coach Mark Robson and his staff the chance to intensify pre-season preparations as the squad gears up for the start of the Premier League 2 campaign, commencing on the weekend of 8 August, as well as their participation in senior tournaments, which will begin with the National League Cup where they face Woking the following week on matchday one.
