U21s add Boreham Wood clash to 2025/26 pre-season schedule

West Ham United can confirm that the Academy U21 development team have added another fixture to their 2025/26 pre-season schedule, with a trip to National League side Boreham Wood on Friday 25 July, kicking off at 7.30pm BST.

Mark Robson’s young Hammers already have a busy pre-season lined up, with four fixtures against senior opposition confirmed. They will kick off the 2025/26 season against National League South side Worthing on Saturday 12 July, followed by matches against Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday 15 July, Maidenhead United on Saturday 19 July, and EFL League One outfit Northampton Town on Tuesday 22 July.

Boreham Wood and West Ham United last met in a pre-season fixture in July 2023, when a mixed squad of first-team and development players secured a 4-1 victory. Goals on that occasion came from first-teamers Jarrod Bowen and Danny Ings, as well as U21s players Kamarai Swyer and Gideon Kodua.

The Wood finished the 2024/25 season in incredible form, winning their final eight fixtures to earn promotion back to the National League via the play-offs at the first time of asking, after spending their first season below the fifth tier of English football in nine years.

The July fixtures will provide the young Hammers not only with valuable match fitness but also an opportunity to test themselves against senior opposition ahead of their participation in this season’s EFL Trophy - where they will face Milton Keynes Dons, Reading and Swindon Town - and the National League Cup.

Tickets for the U21s’ pre-season fixture at the Mangata Developments Stadium, Meadow Park, can be purchased via the Boreham Wood website HERE.
