West Ham United women’s team manager Rehanne Skinner has named her starting XI to face Arsenal for Wednesday evening’s friendly at Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park.
Stepping up their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, the Hammers face the Gunners looking to build on the positive results they have gained so far in pre-season - in particular against Sparta Prague and Liverpool.
Skinner has named a strong line-up for the game against Renée Slegers’ side, with Poland international Kinga Szemik starting in between the sticks.
The No1 will be supported by a defence consisting of summer signing Yu Endo, vice-captain Shelina Zadorsky, Eva Nyström and Verena Hanshaw.
Sitting in front of the midfield will be captain Katrina Gorry and Oona Siren, who struck up a strong partnership on the pitch last term, with the pair starting 17 Barclays Women’s Super League matches alongside each other.
Looking to cause the Arsenal defence problems will be Viviane Asseyi, who netted in our historic victory over the Gunners in 2024, Manuela Paví, Seraina Piubel and Riko Ueki.
Another player to net away at the Gunners last term was Amber Tysiak, who bagged a brace in the narrow 4-3 defeat, and she is one of eleven substitutes on the bench who will be hoping to make an impact on Wednesday evening.
Alongside the Belgium international on the substitutes’ bench are goalkeepers Megan Walsh and Katie O’Hanlon, defenders Inès Belloumou and Anouk Denton, midfielders Selin Cemal and Halle Houssein, and forwards Ffion Morgan, Leila Wandeler and Emily Brown.
