1. He’s a natural goalscorer
Goalscorers are special. Fans worship them, managers count on them, and Daniel Cummings undoubtedly fits this bracket.
A product of the Celtic academy, Cummings joined the Bhoys at the age of five, rising up through the ranks quickly, impressing and scoring regularly at every level.
Since signing his first professional contract during the summer of 2022, Cummings’ career has travelled on an upward trajectory.
At just 16, he netted his first goal for Celtic’s B team in the Scottish Lowland League, against Stirling University in February 2023, before scoring a crucial goal in the U18s’ 6-5 victory over Rangers in the Scottish Youth Cup final at Hampden Park in May 2023.
The forward enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Hoops’ B team in the Scottish Lowland League in 2023/24, clocking up 12 goals in 19 league games, while in 2024/25, the now 19-year-old took his game to the next level, scoring 29 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions, including six in seven outings in the UEFA Youth League.

2. His senior Celtic debut came in the UEFA Champions League
Cummings’ solitary appearance for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic first-team came in the UEFA Champions League - the biggest stage in European football - in late January 2025.
He was summoned from the bench for the final eleven minutes or so away at eventual quarter-finalists Aston Villa - replacing Adam Idah - and during a lively debut, the young forward gave a glimpse of what was to come, despite his side falling to a 4-2 defeat.
3. He’s faced West Ham United previously
At just 17, Cummings started Celtic B’s Premier League International Cup fixture against the Hammers at Chigwell Construction Stadium in September 2023, where our U21s - featuring the likes of Kaelan Casey, Ollie Scarles, George Earthy and Callum Marshall - put on a comprehensive attacking display to beat the visitors 5-0.
Cummings managed to find the back of the net against London rivals Chelsea in the same competition, in a 3-1 loss in December 2023.

4. He helped Celtic B to the UEFA Youth League knockout stages
Cummings has been an important member of Celtic’s UEFA Youth League squad across the last two seasons.
Having made five appearances in the competition in 2023/24, his goals in last term’s edition of the tournament were pivotal to the Hoops’ run to the round of 32.
Indeed, he impressively scored six goals in seven appearances, notching against Slovan Bratislava, RB Leipzig, Club Brugge and Dinamo Zagreb as the young Celts progressed to the knockout stages for the very first time.

5. He has represented his country at youth level
Cummings has represented Scotland at U17 and U19 level, scoring once in six caps for his country across both age-groups, in a 2-1 win over Montenegro for the U17s in March 2023.
Having last featured for the U19s in November 2024, he will be hoping to burst out of the blocks in Claret and Blue at the start of 2025/26, and once again earn a spot on the international stage.
6. His talents have been recognised
A man who knows a thing or two about finding the back of the net in Claret and Blue is Frank McAvennie, who scored 60 goals in 190 appearances over two spells between 1985 and 1992, while the now 65-year-old also featured for boyhood heroes Celtic in between.
McAvennie has heaped praise on our newest signing's precocious talent, having recently stated on his X account that he believes Cummings’ arrival is a shrewd piece of business for the Hammers.
