AFC BOURNEMOUTH
Premier League Summer Series, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia, United States, Sunday 3 August 2025, 2pm EDT (7pm BST)
West Ham United completes the 2025 Premier League Summer Series by taking on AFC Bournemouth at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers go into the game with their hopes of winning the competition still alive, sitting joint-second with the Cherries on points and goal difference, and three points behind Manchester United, who also have a superior goal difference of four.
West Ham were defeated 2-1 by the Red Devils in New Jersey on Saturday, but bounced back to beat Everton by the same scoreline at Soldier Field in Chicago on Wednesday evening.
Tickets for Sunday’s match are on General Sale HERE, with supporters able to save 20% on select seats by using the code PLSS20.
Opened in 2017 just west of Downtown Atlanta, the 71,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Stadium is commonly considered to be one of the best in the world. With a retractable roof, an 18-metre high and 335-metre long ring-shaped video board, and more than 180 specially commissioned artworks incorporated into its design, the home of the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United is uniquely eye-catching.
Among the major events hosted by Mercedes-Benz Stadium have been Super Bowl LIII in 2019, college American football bowl games, the 2024 Copa América, concerts and conferences. Earlier this summer, it hosted six matches in the FIFA Club World Cup, and it is set to host seven games at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a semi-final.

Where to stay…
Atlanta is a large city, so there are places which are good for visitors to stay, and others which are less suitable.
Downtown, the Old Fourth Ward slightly further east and Buckhead north of Midtown are all worth considering.
What to do…
The number one attraction in Atlanta is the Georgia Aquarium, which exhibits hundreds of species and thousands of animals across its seven major galleries. The World of Coca-Cola takes you through the history of the iconic drinks brand with interactive exhibits and beverage samples.

Sports fans will enjoy a walk around Centennial Olympic Park, which was home to the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, or visit the College Football Hall of Fame to find out more about American football in the country’s universities.

What’s happened there before…
West Ham United have played in Atlanta once previously in the Club’s history, as part of the North American Soccer League (NASL) International Cup in May 1969.
The Hammers ‘represented’ NASL club Baltimore Bays, while Aston Villa became the Atlanta Chiefs, Wolverhampton Wanderers morphed into Kansas City Spurs, while Scottish sides Dundee United and Kilmarnock became Dallas Tornado and St Louis Stars respectively.
The five teams played each other home and away in a double round-robin tournament, with the Bays’ visit to Atlanta for the fifth of their eight matches.
Geoff Hurst and Peter Hartley netted in a 2-2 draw with Atlanta Chiefs (Aston Villa) at Fulton County Stadium in Georgia on 19 May 1969.
The return game was played at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore on 27 May, with Martin Peters scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory for the Bays.
