West Ham United fell to a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
Declan Rice opened the scoring with 38 minutes played at Emirates Stadium, knocking into the net after Alphonse Areola saved Eberechi Eze's fierce angled effort.
The Irons went close inside the first minute, when Niclas Füllkrug headed Lucas Paquetá's corner over the top, but Arsenal began to take control as the first half wore on and gained their reward with the break closing in.
Riccardo Calafiori then struck a post from outside the box as Arsenal continued to press, and the home side went on to double their advantage midway through the second period after El Hadji Malick Diouf fouled Jurrien Timber in the penalty area.
Bukayo Saka stepped up to convert and seal the three points for his team.
