Matchday Gallery | Hammers beaten at Palace

West Ham United fell to a 5-2 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

The Hammers welcomed Lucas Paquetá and Emerson back to the fold following suspension, but it was the Eagles who made a fast start, scoring through Michail Olise's header with just seven minutes on the clock.

Then, nine minutes later, Eberechi Eze pounced after Łukasz Fabiański saved from Jean-Philippe Mateta with his legs to acrobatically double the lead.

It got worse before 20 minutes were up, as Emerson knocked Will Hughes' cross beyond Fabiański to make it 3-0 to the Eagles.

The Hammers were shell-shocked and they conceded a fourth just past the half-hour when Jean-Philippe Mateta swept home.

There was finally something for the travelling fans to cheer four minutes before the break when Vladimír Coufal lifted a cross into the box, Tomáš Souček headed across goal and Michail Antonio finished from close range.

However, 18 minutes into the second period, Palace restored their four-goal advantage through Mateta's second of the game.

There was time for a late Hammers response, when Dean Henderson miscontrolled into his own net, but it was scant consolation for the east Londoners.
