Stuart Attwell has been confirmed as the referee for West Ham United’s Premier League clash away to Leeds United on Friday.

The 43-year-old became the-then youngest referee in Premier League history when, at 25, he took charge of Blackburn Rovers’ match against Hull City in August 2008.

He returned to the National List of Referees in 2012, but was promoted back to the Select Group for 2016/17 and took charge of his 600th fixture in all competitions when he refereed the 2024/25 FA Cup final between Crystal Palace and Manchester City at Wembley, where Eberechi Eze’s first-half goal won Oliver Glasner’s side their first major trophy in the club's history.

Originally from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, Attwell also held the whistle during Liverpool’s penalty-shootout win over Chelsea in the 2022 EFL Cup final, and oversaw Arsenal’s dramatic Community Shield victory over Manchester City in August 2023.

He was the man in the middle of our narrow 2-1 defeat at Chelsea in February 2025, and in total he has refereed 24 West Ham matches during his esteemed career, the first being a 1-0 Premier League victory away at Wigan Athletic in March 2009, during which Carlton Cole scored a superb winner for the visiting Irons.

Furthermore, our clash with the Whites is set to be the sixth Premier League match in which Attwell has held the whistle this season, while he refereed a UEFA Conference League qualifier between FC Spartak Trnava and CS Universitatea Craiova in August.

Constantine Hatzidakis and Marc Perry have been named as the assistant referees at Elland Road.

Hatzidakis regularly officiates matches alongside Attwell, and has ran the line in each of his five Premier League appointments in 2025/26, while he duly served with him in the aforementioned Chelsea clash in February.

A veteran of over 30 Hammers fixtures, and almost 400 matches in total across domestic, European and international competitions, Hatzidakis has assisted at seven Premier League games this term.

Perry, meanwhile, has featured as an assistant referee over 300 times in the top flight, including on five occasions this season. Indeed, he was also involved in the Chelsea meeting at Stamford Bridge earlier this year, and in the 2-0 victory over Leicester City little under three weeks later, then the 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park in March.

Friday’s fourth official is David Webb. The Lancashire native joined the EFL list as an assistant in 2006 before graduating to being the main man two years later.

He represented PGMOL at the Dallas Cup in 2009, spent time refereeing in Australia in 2018, and also refereed the EFL League Two Play-Off final between Coventry City and Exeter City that same year.

Webb has never refereed a Premier League match, but has taken charge of over 600 matches in professional football, which includes our 5-1 FA Youth Cup triumph against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium in 2023.

He is part of the Select Group Two list of officials, who predominantly take charge of Championship matches, and has been the man in the middle of six second-tier matches in 2025/26.

Craig Pawson, one of the country’s most experienced officials, is set to oversee Video Assistant Referee duties in West Yorkshire.

The South Yorkshire native has been a part of the Select Group of Referees since 2013 and has held the whistle five times in the Premier League so far this campaign, including our 3-0 victory at Nottingham Forest in August. He will be assisted by Adrian Holmes.
