West Ham United women’s team goalkeeper Kinga Szemik has been called up to Poland’s squad for their pair of friendlies during the October international break.
The Hammers shot-stopper recently made history with her country, as she helped them reach their first-ever major international tournament, and subsequently played every minute of Poland’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 campaign in Switzerland.
On Friday 24 October, Nina Patalon’s side will host the Netherlands at PGE Arena Gdańsk, with kick-off coming at 5pm BST.
Poland will then travel to Newport to face Wales at Rodney Parade, who also made their major tournament debut at the summer’s Euros, on Tuesday 28 October at 7.45pm GMT.
Prior to the Euros, Szemik, who won the U17s Women’s Euro title with her country aged 15, helped Poland achieve promotion from UEFA Women’s Nations League Group B1 in May, keeping a clean sheet in a resounding 4-0 victory against Northern Ireland that secured their League A status.
The 28-year-old, who played every minute of our 2024/25 Barclays Women’s Super League season, and Poland went unbeaten in their Nations League campaign and will look to build more momentum in their October friendlies.
