Callum Marshall has been named in Northern Ireland’s 26-man squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Germany.
The 20-year-old striker has been in fine form, scoring in every game he has featured in during the month of September.
On the bench for the first team for our last Premier League outing at Everton, Marshall has been keeping up match sharpness with the U21s, scoring four goals and registering one assist in three games for Mark Robson’s men.

Marshall earned his eleventh and 12th senior caps during the September international break, picking up minutes in FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Luxembourg and Germany, that yielded a 3-1 win and a 3-1 defeat respectively. After two games in UEFA Group A, Northern Ireland are second, level on points and goal difference with third-place Germany, but ahead of them on goals scored.
Michael O’Neill’s men host Slovakia, who sit top of the group having won both of their qualifiers so far, on Friday 10 October at 7.45pm BST, before facing Germany on Monday 13 October at 7.45pm BST, with both matches being played at Windsor Park.
The group winners after six matches will qualify directly for the 2026 finals in North America, while the runners-up will advance to play-offs.
All four remaining ties will be broadcast live in the UK by BBC One NI, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.
