West Ham United U23s got off to the perfect start under new lead coach Mark Robson with a 1-0 win over Manchester City U23s at Rush Green Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Sonny Perkins early goal was the difference between the two sides on chilly afternoon in East London, where chances were at a premium.
The victory sees the Hammers move up to top spot in the Premier League 2 Division 1 table, albeit having played one match more than their London rivals Arsenal U23s.
