West Ham United exited the 2023/24 Carabao Cup at the quarter-final stage following a 5-1 loss away to Liverpool.
The Irons were a goal behind at half-time, following Dominik Szoboszlai's long-ranged finish, and double their advantage early in the second thanks to Curtis Jones' narrow finish.
Cody Gakpo found the near post on 71 minutes for Liverpool's third, but Jarrod Bowen sparked hope of a West Ham fightback when he netted a terrific finish to mark his 27th birthday.
But it was not to be as Jones grabbed a personal second and Mohamed Salah added a fifth late on to put the Reds into the semi-finals at the Hammers' expense.
