FPL - Gameweek 30 preview

Ahead of the Gameweek 30 deadline on Saturday 8 April at 11am, here is your FPL preview. West Ham United head to Fulham on Saturday afternoon for their third Premier League fixture in seven days, with Jarrod Bowen looking to add goals to his impressive all-round form...

Just Jarrod

Despite the disappointing defeat to Newcastle United, Jarrod Bowen remained a bright spark in attack to become the first Hammer to pass a century of FPL points.

It took just one minute for the England forward to show he had the beating of Dan Burn at London Stadium. His cross might have found the net, although Bruno Guimarães was relieved to see the ball bounce off him and then the post rather than put the Irons ahead.

Bowen was instrumental in the Hammers’ goal against the Magpies, winning and taking the corner which Kurt Zouma headed home with 40 minutes played. He picked up five FPL points against Newcastle, as a result.

And while a positive result did not arrive, Bowen will take confidence from his personal performance over the past weeks as he heads to Fulham on Saturday.

West Ham United’s leading FPL points scorer this season has struck against the Cottagers already this season – netting in a 3-1 win at London Stadium in October.

While the England international has not yet hit the same heights he attained in scoring an incredible 206 points last term, he still has a creditable 102 to his name, with ten games still to go to increase that tally.

Bowen

What is more, the No20 has shown improved form at London Stadium in recent weeks, netting a brace on his way to 16 FPL points in a home win over Everton in January, grabbing assists against Chelsea and Nottingham Forest, and then hitting another double in the UEFA Europa Conference League round of 16 second leg victory over Cypriot side AEK Larnaca before the March international break.

While that second double did not boost his FPL points haul, it did provide further illustration that the Versatile forward is rediscovering his best form in front of goal with a right-foot finish and expertly taken header finding the back of the net.

Heading to Craven Cottage, Bowen has eight goal contributions in the Premier League this season. And let’s not forget, he has scored at this ground already this season, striking in a mid-season friendly in December last year.

Opposition one to watch: Andreas Pereira

Andreas Pereira moved to a century of FPL points against Arsenal, hardly a bad achievement for a player priced at £4.3m.

A product of PSV Eindhoven Academy in the Netherlands, the attacking midfielder has been one of the brightest sparks as Fulham have impressed this season to sit tenth in the Premier League table, at time of writing.

Andreas Pereira

The former Manchester United creative has recorded six assists and three goals in 2022/23. His best Gameweek haul – ten points – came against Leeds United in GW13. Pereira picked up points for two assists, minutes played and bonuses.

In the reverse fixture between the sides played at London Stadium in October, Pereira grabbed the opening goal to take his haul against the east Londoners to six points.

The Belgium-born midfielder will hope to strike his fourth goal of the Premier League season in west London on Saturday.
