Former Hammer Ian Wright made OBE in King's Birthday Honours

Former West Ham United striker Ian Wright has been made an OBE in King Charles III's first Birthday Honours list.

59-year-old Wright, who scored nine goals in 26 Hammers appearances between 1998-99, has been honoured for his services to football and charity work.

Wright earned 33 caps for England and held Arsenal's all-time goalscoring record during a glittering playing career, before becoming a successful broadcaster in addition to his promotion of women's football and charities.

He is heavily involved in the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust, which aims to make sport more accessible for those from less privileged backgrounds.

Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate Ian on his honour.
