Fantasy Premier League | Gameweek 3 Hints and Tips

West Ham United continue their 2025/26 Premier League campaign when they travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday in our final game before the first international break of the season.

With two Premier League defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea so far and an early Carabao Cup exit, Head Coach Graham Potter will be eager to register our first points of the campaign.

The Hammers are bidding for a first victory at the City Ground since 28 August 2011, when goals from Kevin Nolan, Carlton Cole and Winston Reid, and a Luke Chambers own-goal, earned a 4-1 triumph en route to promotion from the second tier.

All told, as we seek a response to a difficult start, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers may see selecting Hammers as a means of solidifying or improving their team’s position in their respective leagues.

Both sides will be full of individuals looking to provide the touch of magic required to make the difference on the day, meaning there are a number of decisions to be made in the lead-up to kick-off.

The Gameweek 3 transfer deadline is set for 11am on Saturday 30 August ahead of a mouth-watering feast of weekend action.

While we will be giving you FPL tips and tricks throughout the remainder of the 2025/26 season on whufc.com, see below for some of our picks for the upcoming round.

More Brazilian brilliance from Paquetá?

Lucas Paquetá (£5.9m) has enjoyed a strong start to his own season, despite the Hammers enduring a tough start as a collective.

Just six minutes into our Gameweek 2 match against Chelsea, our No10 gave us the lead with an outrageous strike, striding goalwards before unleashing a left-foot strike that flew into Robert Sánchez's top corner to earn nine FPL points.

Tomáš Souček

He continued that strong run of form at Molineux against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, when the midfielder stooped to meet Jarrod Bowen's (£9.0m) precise cross and expertly head the ball beyond Sam Johnstone.

Paquetá has made a positive impact so far in 2025/26 and will no doubt be influential at the City Ground on Sunday.

Chris Wood

Can Super Tom strike again?

Tomáš Souček (£5.9m), who has eclipsed 100 FPL points in each of his five full seasons as a West Ham player, is up and running for the 2025/26 season.

The Czechia captain levelled proceedings in the West Midlands with a trademark header and will hope that can act as the catalyst to another successful season in Claret and Blue.

The No28 has form against Forest, too, having scored in a 3-2 home win over the Reds in November 2023.
