West Ham United is delighted to announce that all eleven scholars from the 2023-25 cohort have successfully obtained their BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sporting Excellence and Performance, equivalent to three A Levels.
On average, the group achieved up to three grades higher than predicted, with six learners securing D*D*D*, the highest possible grade. The scholars also completed their Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP) Level 3 apprenticeship, with eleven out of twelve learners earning a distinction.
In addition to these academic accomplishments, the young Hammers have gained their UEFA C Coaching Licence and Laws of the Game Refereeing Qualification.
The 2023-25 cohort formed the core of the U18s side that made West Ham United history in April, becoming just the fifth team to lift the U18 Premier League Cup. Featured in the gallery above, Ezra Mayers, Preston Fearon, Jethro Medine, Josh Ajala, Emeka Adiele, Elisha Sowunmi, Riley Hargan, Gabriel Caliste, Rayan Oyebade and Mehmet Halim all made at least three appearances in that cup-winning run. In fact, eight of them appeared in the final, a 2-1 win over Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Now part of Mark Robson’s U21s squad, although many had already featured for the development side as scholars, they began their new campaign with a 2-0 win away at Woking in the National League Cup.
