Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history....

West Ham United's EFL Championship 2011/12 campaign got a boost on this date in the calendar when Blackpool were the visitors to the Boleyn Ground, and returned to the Lancashire coast well-beaten.

The Hammers scored four goals without reply, with Norway centre-forward John Carew opening the scoring with just 12 minutes played.

Three goals in 12 second half minutes put the outcome beyond doubt, as young forward Sam Baldock netted twice on his finest afternoon in Claret and Blue before midfielder Jack Collison added a fourth.

West Ham went on to defeat the Tangerines in the Championship Play-Off final, albeit only 2-1 after a real struggle at Wembley Stadium, to win promotion next to the Premier League.

Watch all four goals from our emphatic victory over Ian Holloway's side again in our video player above.
