Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history...
West Ham United enjoyed a successful trip to the East Midlands on this day in 1996, scoring their first away victory of the season at Nottingham Forest.
Mark Bowen opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time, and although Marc Rieper was sent-off six minutes into the second period, a goal from Michael Hughes three minutes later gave the Irons a two-goal advantage.
Harry Redknapp's men dug in from there to secure a clean sheet, a 2-0 victory and three valuable points.
West Ham would go on to beat the same opponents in the League Cup the following month, while the 1996/97 campaign ended with a 14th-place finish.
