On This Day: Carroll's majestic scissor-kick against Palace

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, presented by Heineken...

"I had done one of those in training last week and it hit the post, so I have been practising," Andy Carroll had revealed in his post-match interview.

On this day in 2017, Andy Carroll's practice made perfect.

The then-28-year-old scored one of West Ham United's all-time finest goals - and arguably the greatest seen yet at London Stadium - with a soaring scissor kick to double the Irons' advantage in an eventual 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Second-half strikes from Sofiane Feghouli and Manuel Lanzini came either side of the England striker's wonder-goal - but it was Carroll's acrobatic effort for which the match will live long in the Claret and Blue Army's memories.
