The manager gives you a weekend off. Where are you going?
"I think I’m heading straight to the beach. For sure, if had the time, I would head to a beach back home in Brazil."
Who is the best sports person of all time?
"Oh my goodness, there are so many across the world. Past and present, there have been a lot of amazing sportspeople. But, for me, the easy answer to say Lionel Messi.
"I’ve played against him two times in my career and he is just so good. His intelligence with the ball is on another level."
What is your favourite drink?
"My favourite drink is water. I try to keep it healthy and it’s very important to stay hydrated."
Where do you keep your UEFA Europa Conference League winners’ medal?
"Right now, in this moment, it’s back at my home in Brazil, where my wife is at the moment. It’s safe there. I keep all of my medals back in Brazil. I send them back to my family to look after for me.
"In my home, I have a room with all the medals, trophies and shirts I’ve collected in my career. I’m lucky enough that it’s getting quite full now, but I’d like to keep adding more!"
What’s the best thing about being a footballer?
"So I became a footballer because I loved the sport. Football has always been my passion. This sport is everything for me. Football will always be my first love so, being able to spend every day doing my passion, I am very lucky."
What does the first hour of your day look like?
"I wake up and I like to grab a coffee. When I start the day, I need a coffee to get going. I like to be relaxed at the very start of the day and the coffee helps me to get prepared for training.
"I wouldn’t consider myself a morning person so that first coffee is very important for me!"
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
"It was from my father, and he told me that in order to become a great man I had to have a great heart.
"You have to help people, work hard in everything you do, put 100 per cent in your job and at home with my wife and kids, and do everything with kindness and love.
"That is, for sure, the very best advice I’ve received in my life."
What is your favourite holiday destination?
"I have a few! At the moment, I would have to say Brazil, specifically Santos. That is my home and it is always like summer there. It is so warm, which I really like.
"Also, all my family and my friends are there, and they’re the people I want to spend my time with, so that is where I would choose to go right now."
Who is your favourite fictional character?
"I like Marvel so the heroes involved in the Marvel universe are high on my list. I also really like Batman, who is DC and I know that is a bit controversial to like both, and I also like Superman.
"But Batman is for sure the best one!"
How did you meet your wife?
"I met my wife for the first time at a friend’s house. It was about six years ago, when I still living in Brazil. He was having a barbeque and, when I arrived, I saw her for the first time. After that, we spent a lot of time talking. Now she’s my wife and we have two beautiful children, so everything has gone in a really good way.
"She recently gave birth to our second child, my son, who is now a month old. She has been back in Brazil looking after him. We didn’t want to take any risk with the travel for such a young new-born, and I’ve missed them a lot.
"I’m really looking forward to her and him joining me back in London."
