West Ham United Official Supporters’ Club Atlanta Ironworks celebrated its tenth anniversary during October.
Since forming in 2015, the group has amassed over 450 members, who meet regularly to support Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and take part in a number of events across the calendar year.
Indeed, they hosted an incredible fan party at the city’s BrewDog bar in August, when the Irons were in town to take on AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League Summer Series.
Ahead of the official opening of the group’s new bar, the Little 5 Pub, located in the heart of Little Five Points, the Atlanta Ironworks gathered there on 4 October to take in the Arsenal match and reflect on some of their best memories so far.
Chairperson Nick Lemmond said: “To celebrate our ten-year anniversary as a supporter group last month, we met up for a special celebration. We hosted a private party for all the Atlanta Ironworks members and any West Ham fans in the area who wanted to attend, and we had a great time singing and telling stories.
“The Little 5 Pub is shaping up to be a great place to hang out, both on matchdays and non-matchdays, and we plan to host an even bigger party when it opens to the public!
“Over the last ten years, the group has grown more than I ever could have imagined when we first put together that email chain in 2015. There were originally three or four of us on that chain, and now we have over 450 members. There have been so many great memories with this group of people, many of whom have become some of my closest friends.
“We have definitely seen the excitement of the Summer Series carry over into the new season. We still meet up for all the games, and so far, we have had much more consistent turnout. Our group’s Instagram page has more than tripled its follower count since the Summer Series announcement was made, so it is a really exciting time for all of us.
“For me, seeing the players come over and clap the West Ham section of the stadium after the Bournemouth match is something I will always remember. It was the perfect ending to the tour, because for one afternoon our city’s home stadium was the centre of the West Ham universe.”
