Team News: Debuts for Alphonse Areola and Alex Král, Moyes makes ten changes

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola and midfielder Alex Král will make their West Ham United debuts against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday evening.

Manager David Moyes makes ten changes to the West Ham side who faced the same opposition in the Premier League at London Stadium three days ago, with the trip to Old Trafford marking Areola and Král’s bows in Claret and Blue since signing from Paris St-Germain and Spartak Moscow on loan respectively.

Having recovered from injury and featured as a substitute in the UEFA Europa League win over Dinamo Zagreb last week, full-back Arthur Masuaku makes his first start since April.

Academy graduate Ben Johnson, Club captain Mark Noble and Ukraine international Andriy Yarmolenko also all make their first starts of the season in the Carabao Cup third-round tie.

Also recalled to the starting eleven are Ryan Fredericks, Craig Dawson, Issa Diop and Manuel Lanzini, with Jarrod Bowen the only player to start both games against Manchester United this week.

On the bench, Moyes possesses a strong raft of options, with goalkeeper Darren Randolph; defenders Vladimír Coufal, Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna; and attacking midfielders Pablo Fornals, Nikola Vlašić and Said Benrahma all available in reserve.

Both sides are able to name seven substitutes, of which three can be used, and if the scores are level after ninety minutes the match will go straight to penalties.
