Highlights: Ipswich Town 1-2 West Ham United U21s

West Ham United U21s made the perfect start to their Papa John's Trophy campaign with a 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Tuesday night.

James Norwood put the hosts ahead after just two minutes, but the Hammers hit back through Keenan Forson's low drive less than ten minutes later.

Dmitri Halajko's side defended resolutely throughout the contest, putting on a mature display as they battled against the far more experienced opposition.

A game of few chances looked destined to be heading for a penalty shoot-out until Jamal Baptiste was caught in the air by Ipswich Town goalkeeper Tomas Holy and the referee duly pointed to the spot.

Armstrong Okoflex stepped up and struck the ball calmly into the net to ensure the U21s took the three points in their first Southern Group A fixture.
