On This Day: West Ham United secure Play-Off final win and promotion to the Premier League

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

It was on this day 16 years ago, on 30 May 2005, that the Hammers secured their return to the Premier League after two years in the Championship.

After seeing off Ipswich Town for the second year in a row at the Play-Off semi-final stage, Alan Pardew's men atoned for the previous season's Millennium Stadium defeat by Crystal Palace with a 1-0 win over Preston North End.

This time around, Bobby Zamora's goal was enough to see off the Lilywhites and send West Ham back to the top flight and send 40,000 Hammers back over the Severn Bridge in jubilant mood.

Relive the day again and again right here!
