Saïd Benrahma helps Algeria brush aside Botswana

Said Benrahma in Algeria colours

Saïd Benrahma helped Algeria complete an unbeaten qualifying campaign for the 2021 CAF Africa Cup of Nations with a 5-0 win over Botswana on Monday.

The West Ham United winger started and earned his seventh cap as the Desert Foxes swept aside their opponents at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida.

Former Hammer Sofiane Feghouli was among the scorers as Algeria, captained by Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, made it four wins and two draws from their six ties.

Mahrez with a penalty, Aissa Mandi, Baghdad Bounedjah and Farid Boulaya were also on target as Algeria produced chance after chance against Botswana, who finished bottom of Group H.

Algeria had already secured their place at the final tournament in Cameroon in January/February 2022 with two games to spare, and had drawn 3-3 in Zambia last Thursday - a game the Irons star missed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
