On This Day: Trevor Sinclair strikes to see off Everton

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United made it four successive home Premier League wins with a 1-0 victory over Everton on this day in 2002.

On a tense evening at the Boleyn Ground, the deadlock was finally broken by the Hammers in the 59th minute, courtesy of a fortuitous deflection from Trevor Sinclair, after Joe Cole had taken aim from range.

Despite an element of luck about the only goal of the game, Glenn Roeder’s side hung on well for the victory, restricting the visiting Toffees to speculative efforts in the closing stages.
